Duck Hunting in Peru – How Do You Get There?
It is very easy to get right in to the waterfowl hunting action in Peru: one need not even take an all-night flight.
There is daytime service every day to Lima on American Airlines from Miami International Airport non-stop to Lima, Jorge Chavez International airport (which is located in a suburb of Lima named Callo).
From there, most hunters stay one night in Lima in order to take in the sights and sounds of Miraflores, the garden district of Lima where all of the best hotels, casinos, and restaurants are located.
The next day, hunters will fly from Lima to Arequipa (located in southern Peru) where they will be taken to the hotel for dinner and preperation for the next day’s duck hunting action.
Dove Hunting in Peru
The flights and logistics for dove hunting in Peru are exactly the same as above. One difference is that when one goes dove hunting (a dove only trip with no waterfowl hunting), one has two flight options.
There is excellent dove hunting in both the north, and the south of the country. Therefore, depending on some other particular needs of the itinerary, we will assist your party in deciding which region is best for your group. Factors such as group size, level of accommodations desired, and overall budget all weigh in on this decision.
Several Important Considerations To Keep In Mind When Considering Hunting in Peru:
- No all night flight (if you love the idea of duck hunting in Peru, but hate the fact that you normally have to fly all night in a coach seat to Argentina or Uruguay to do it—you are going to love Peru)
- This trip offers a chance to see the unique Inca experience. The country has appeal and beauty not offered by any other country in South America. Those who choose dove hunting in Peru have two options (both with very different sights, sounds, and views of Inca life)
- The exchange rate in Peru is still more favorable toward the dollar than any other country in South America, so this is not a trip that will break the bank.
- All of your hosts and guides speak English, and have lived and hunted in the USA, so when you are bird hunting in Peru, they know what you expect, and will most likely not only meet your expectations, but exceed them.
- Best of all, you do not need to bring your own dove gun, or duck hunting gun. As with all Los Gauchos trips, the use of our firearms are included in the Peru bird hunting package—all you need to do is bring yourself!
- Gratuities, also called “tips” are also included. So forget about the unknowns, book your South American bird hunting trips with Los Gauchos, and forget about the hassles and extras—we have you covered.
